Eyes in Smoke, Haze and Poor Air Quality
“Eyes in Smoke, Haze and Poor Air Quality”

Your eyes in smoke, haze and poor air quality.

Over the last few months NSW has had more bad air quality days than ever before.

Rinse eyes with saline or a watery lubricant like Refresh or Systane individual vials. This will remove debris from the eyes which in turn will cause discomfort and allergies. If the eyes become itchy try an antihistamine eye drop available from your pharmacy.

Stay inside where possible in cleaner air.

Wear sunglasses at all times to protect the eyes from air particles.

Contact lens wearers should ensure to rinse the eyes with a lubricant after removal AND rinse the contacts lenses if they are reusable ones with pure saline.

If discomfort persists drop by to see one of our optometrists to thouroughly check for any cell damage caused by smoke and ash.
